Another “Jaguars at the …” Weekender… based in Surrey, visiting Mercedes Benz World, Brooklands Museum and Denbies Wine Estate.

With around 33 Jags, an Aston Martin and a Mercedes and around 60 people, this was a fun-packed weekend. Based out of The Hilton, Cobham with people arriving on the Friday evening for food, drinks and chat ahead of rolling out at 9am on the Saturday morning to Mercedes Benz World. Despite being informed we were visiting, and them advising us to “arrive early” so we could “park together”, on the day we were greeted by the “Director for the day” (sounds a bit like “bring your kid to work day”) having already parked up and being told we would have to move to the overflow car park at the rear of the building because 30+ Jaguars is “not on brand” for Mercedes. Pathetic. But there you go. A compliment to the power of the Jaguar Brand and our assembled Jags dating from 1955 through to 2023.

Saturday afternoon was a surprise for the group. Whilst they knew we were heading to Brooklands Museum, just across the way from MBW, they weren’t ready for the realisation, as I led them through the Campbell Gate, that we were parking on the finishing straight of the 1907 race track – the World’s first motor racing track!

Saturday evening saw us return to Brooklands for our “Night at the Motor Museum Dinner”.

Sunday morning, back on the Surrey roads this time taking us to Denbies Wine Estate for a tour and tasting, and a lovely Sunday lunch.
